**Job Purpose & Scope**

The Operations Planner is responsible for maintaining the integrity of stock by ensuring accurate inventory management and efficient stock control processes. The role involves coordinating stock movements, reconciling discrepancies and taking part in stock takes at Warehouse locations. The Operations Planner collaborates with stake holders to optimise inventory accuracy and support smooth operation flow. Additionally, this position requires proactive problem-solving, data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to uphold standards of stock integrity and operational efficiencies.

**Location**

CH2 area - the role is Hybrid requiring a minimum of 3 days per week office based

**Key Responsibilities & Duties**
- Monitor and Investigate stock discrepancies, variances and queries and maintain and update inventory records to ensure inventory integrity.
- Manage customer returns, damaged and quarantined stock ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate effectively with other stakeholders to identify, manage and reduce bad inventory, including obsolete, slow-moving and excess stock.
- Manage the efficient and timely processing of transactions to ensure that invoices raised are accurate.
- Maintain data as required and provide regular tracking and status updates for all outstanding orders.
- Manage company systems ensuring that they are clean, and all information input is correct and reflective of current business position.
- Reconcile Inventory held at 3rd party locations with Sage, and, in conjunction with the Supply Chain Planner, investigate variances with raw materials & finished goods, and initiate corrective actions.
- Take part in half yearly / yearly stocktakes at warehouse locations.
- Obtain quotations and arrange transport for domestic and overseas orders, and generate paperwork as required.
- Update company trackers (OTIF, Transportation and more) to ensure all details are captured and accessible to all areas in the business.
- Work with the sales team to improve on current processes, and transport costs.
- Update Price Lists on Sage as required.
- Maintain training certificates and knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations governing dangerous goods, including classification, packaging, labelling and documentation requirements. Provide DGNs as required.
- Deal with and respond to requests from customers for stock availability, status and any other information.
- Attend Operations meetings, and other meetings as required.
- Check and reconcile 3PL invoices, resolve and approve pricing queries relating to logistics.
- Deal with day-to-day issues and problem solving and always communicate effectively.
- Initiate process improvement techniques throughout various areas in the supply chain.
- Assist Finance Team where required concerning sending statements / invoices to customers.
- As an Operations Planner, you will be client facing and therefore you will be required to develop and maintain good client relationships delivering the very best in customer service.
- Provide cover for Supply Chain Planner and Customer Service Administrators during periods of absence.
- Perform other tasks as required, like covering holidays, sickness absences or managing (small) projects, supplier meetings, Audits.

**Skills & Qualifications**
- 3 years of relevant working experience in planning with a good understanding of supply chain, procurement and/or warehousing/distribution
- SAGE experience and MS Excel experience desirable

**Job Types**: Temporary, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: £27,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
