The Fragrance Shop, UK’s leading independent Fragrance retailer, is now recruiting for a Backend CSharp (C#) Developer to join the growing development team located at our Head Office in Trafford Park, Manchester.
Reporting to the Head of Development, you will be working within our inhouse development team as well as liaising with external developers. This role offers a great chance to advance the product and customer journey at an exciting time of growth and changefor our large and growing user-base.
We are looking for a motivated, self-directed, and quality-conscious engineer who has experience working in an agile and fast-paced environment with sound engineering practices like test-driven development, rigorous code-reviews, and CI/CD.
Key responsibilities:
- Delivering and maintaining secure and scalable backend codebases
- Work collaboratively with developers, designers, product and other roles to delight customers
- Identify and resolve issues throughout the product lifecycle
- Explore new technologies and embed learning into the wider team
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, show initiative, and always look for innovative ways to enhance our web properties
Experience and Skills:
- Experience with design and build of serverless architecture in the cloud, building microservices, and event-driven systems. Exposure to cloud patterns, infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and Cloud-Ops.
- Experience of:
- Working with the Microsoft.Net framework using C#
- Developing server-side code using.NET Standard / Core, C#, & SQL Server (T-SQL)
- Developing and using REST APIs using JSON or XML &/or Web API
- Managing source code with version-control software like Git
- Familiarity with writing Windows Services using C# would be good to have
- Knowledge of backend and web architecture and key Azure PaaS technologies
- Experience of unit and functional testing is important, not necessarily strict test-driven development (TDD)
