Seven Resourcing is working with Nottingham City Council to recruit a Cook for their Adults Service Care Home.

Initial 3 month contract.

£12.51 per hour

**Job Purpose**:
To provide a flexible, culturally appropriate catering service to meet the needs of both internal and external Citizens, staff and visitors.

To be responsible for the daily management of catering staff rotas and the provision of well-presented nutritious meals

This role includes menu planning, food ordering and managing the food budget.

**Duties**:
To plan menus and arrange food purchasing within the budget allocated. To monitor expenditure on provisions budget control sheet and daily record of meals forms and to manage spending with in the budget.

Responsible for the preparation, cooking and service of meals for clients, staff and visitors including ensuring that menus are adhered to, that the food is of satisfactory quality and quantity, is presented attractively and at the appropriate time in appropriateportion sizes.

To ascertain the client's views about the meal and to take action to resolve any complaints.

To delegate and supervise areas of work to assistant cooks / kitchen domestics as required, and to ensure this is carried out satisfactorily.

Responsibility for maintenance of good hygiene standards in the kitchen at all times, and to ensure that safe hygiene practices are adopted by all kitchen staff, unit staff, managers and service users who use the facilities

To undertake all the Assured Safe Catering procedures and to complete the documentation required and adhere to Health and Safety regulations

To establish and maintain satisfactory cleaning schedules to ensure that cleaning carried out at the frequency required, personally undertaking any cleaning duties associated with the role, if required, including pot/pan washing, food and utensil

**Applicant Requirements**:
**Qualifications**:
To hold a basic Food Hygiene certificate.

**Experience**:Ability to provide economical, nutritious, well-presented meals of good quality that meet the nutritional needs of service users, within the resources available. Experience of cooking for similar numbers. Able to cater for specialdiets relating to culture, health or religion. Able to plan choice menus to meet the needs of diverse service users within the budget available. Commitment to providing culturally appropriate food to meet the needs of service users. Ability to undertake allof the tasks related to cooking, clerical and administrative aspects of the role. Ability to manage the food budget.

**Compliance**:Up to date Passport DBS.

**Travel**:Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

**Hours**:37.5 hours p/w.
