**Job Summary**
We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our team, supporting our chefs and kitchen staff in the smooth operation of our kitchen. The Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for ensuring the kitchen is clean, organised, and stocked, and for assisting in basic food preparation. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about food and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
- **Food Preparation**: Assist chefs with basic food prep tasks, such as chopping, peeling, and preparing ingredients as directed.
- **Cleaning Duties**: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas, including surfaces, equipment, and floors.
- **Dishwashing**: Operate dishwashing machines and clean pots, pans, and utensils.
- **Stock Management**: Assist with unpacking and organising deliveries, ensuring items are stored correctly and safely.
- **Waste Management**: Dispose of kitchen waste according to guidelines and ensure recycling practices are followed.
- **Support the Team**: Provide general assistance to chefs and other kitchen staff as required, supporting efficient kitchen operations.
Skills & Qualifications:
- **Experience**: Previous experience in a kitchen environment is beneficial but not essential, as training will be provided.
- **Team Player**: Strong ability to work as part of a team, maintaining a positive and cooperative attitude.
- **Attention to Detail**: High standards of cleanliness and a commitment to food hygiene and safety practices.
- **Physical Stamina**: Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
- **Time Management**: Punctual, organised, and able to prioritise tasks in a busy environment.
Additional Requirements:
- **Flexible Availability**: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
- **Food Hygiene Certificate**: Desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.
