Job Title: Principal Bridge Engineer

**Salary**: £52,000 - £57,000
Locations: Liverpool, Manchester, Altrincham, Sheffield, Leeds, Newcastle
I am currently working with one of the most established Bridge Engineering teams in the North. They are looking for a Principal Bridge Engineer to join one of their 6 Northern offices and be involved in a wealth of Public Realm Highways Bridge Projects.

As a Principal Engineer you will be able to work twice a week from their Liverpool, Manchester, Altrincham, Sheffield, Leeds or Newcastle offices. All work collaboratively and resource is collated from any of these offices. This means that you will havea much better project variation as you will get to work on any project across the North of England and Wales.

In order be considered for this position you will need to be chartered with the ICE or IStructE and have a vast amount of experience in leading your own projects, team and be able to effectively deliver multi-million pound schemes.
In return as a Principal Engineer you can expect a salary of between £52,000 to £57,000, flexible working, an industry leading pension scheme and 25 days annual leave, rising with length of service.

As a highly experienced Chartered bridge engineer, you will/be:

- Leading engineering design on new build projects
- Lead design teams throughout all phases of the project, from bidding to completion
- Mentor staff members
- Involved on a range of small to large projects which are industry and publicly high profile
- Able to lead a growing team carrying out bridge feasibility works, design, assessment and strengthening depending upon project requirements
- Required to act as Project Director
- Responsible for all aspects of assigned project work
- Working on a range of both road and rail bridge commissions, ranging from inspection and assessment work to feasibility studies
- Engineering refurbishment and replacement schemes
- Conduct business development alongside the team leader

- Highly experienced with a strong personal interest in bridge engineering which will be utilised in a broad range of engineering projects
- Experience of a range of bridge engineering solutions
- CEng, MICE or similar
- Competency with both Highways England (HE) and Network Rail (NR) design standards including Eurocodes
- Experience of working in UK bridge engineering and involvement in the full project lifecycle, including budget/finance control
- Proven team leading experience, with the ability to lead and mentor graduates
- Experience working in or with a multi-disciplinary design consultancy
- A strong technical focus
- Strong IT skills
