BarrowInFurness, United Kingdom Public Sector Resourcing Full time

**Role Title Internal Communications Advisor (**Inside IR35)**

**Contract Term:12 month**

**Contracting Authority: NDA**

**Location**:Hybrid 2-3 day per week whilst training and then after training once per month.**

We are currently recruiting for an Internal Communications Advisor on behalf of our client NDA. The role will be on a hybrid basis whilst training and then after the training period is over there will be a requirement for 1 office visit once per month.

There may be occasional travel required to other office locations in Drigg in Cumbria, Warrington or Oxford. All travel expenses are refundable.

The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) is a non-departmental public body created through the Energy Act 2004.

We have 5 offices across the UK, in Cumbria, Dounreay, Harwell, Warrington and London. We have 17 sites including the first fleet of nuclear power stations, research centres, fuel-related facilities, and Sellafield, which has the largest radioactive inventory and the most complex facilities to decommission.

We are sponsored by the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and supported by Dounreay, Magnox, Nuclear Waste Services, Nuclear Transport Solutions and Sellafield. The Scottish government also has a governance role, working closely with BEIS to ensure its expectations are met.

Our role is strategic: we establish the overall approach, allocate budgets, set targets and monitor progress.

We do not have a hands-on role in cleaning up our facilities. Instead, we deliver our mission through others, primarily 12 businesses.

**We are responsible for**:

- decommissioning and cleaning up these nuclear facilities ensuring that all waste products, both radioactive and non-radioactive, are safely managed.
- implementing policy on the long-term management of nuclear waste.
- developing UK-wide strategy and plans for nuclear Low Level Waste (LLW).
- scrutinising the decommissioning plans of EDF Energy, who own the operating fleet of Advanced Gas Cooled Reactor (AGR) nuclear power stations.

- Develop plans to support internal communication campaigns, working closely with the Head of Internal Communications, Transformation Director, NWS colleagues, and NDA internal communication leads as needed.
- Responsible for the day to day running of the internal communications inbox
- To develop the NWS intranet, The Vault; ensuring intranet content is engaging, accurate, and up to date, and conversations, discussions and questions are monitored and addressed.

- To support the SLT cascade of information.
- To work closely with the NWS’s HR, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and Wellbeing teams to co-ordinate and deliver a programme of communications and events to support employee engagement.
- To be involved in the development and launch of new initiatives to increase employee engagement.
