JUNIOR WOODWORKER / RESTORER
- £26k basic gross annual salary + performance related bonus

**Daily duties will include**:

- Stripping furniture finish using paint strippers eco Homestrip, Paint panther and Paramose
- Taking apart and resetting joints on high value pieces,
- Sanding rosewood pieces and other woods
- Sanding larger items such as lounge chairs and sanding out smaller scratches and dings
- Staining, shellacing, buffing and oiling legs and smaller items
- prepare surfaces for finishes I.e. de-nibbing surfaces with wire wool, preparing for oil
- Mending, fixing breaks and tricky delicate pieces
- Re-veneering
- Correcting frame wobbles on armchairs and sofas, screwing and re-dowelling frames
- Cutting new legs for armchairs and sofas using a jig on the circular saw
- Making new legs from scratch from a block of sawn cut timber
- Cutting mdf/ ply bases to make bases for ottomans and benches
- Colouring work using acrylic paint for shellaced pieces which require paint where filled.
- Knowledge of finishing grades, sanding for 'colour'
- Competent ability with power tools such as circular saw, hand circular saw
- Strong initiative and a willingness to learn
- Ability to work to deadlines
- An understanding of high quality standards and have an eye for detail
- Be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently when needed

Immediately available / Full time / Part time considered

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £26,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- London, N4 1TD: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:
