Yard Worker

**YARD OPERATIVE & FORKLIFT DRIVER**

**Robert Price (Builders’ Merchants) Ltd. - Porth**

**Hours**:
44.5 hours per week average to be worked from Monday to Friday and alternative Saturday mornings during our daytime opening hours.

**Pay**:
Negotiable according to experience.

**Duties**:
General warehouse duties and stock management

Picking orders, loading and unloadingand related paperwork

Customer service - dealing with customers in person

Driving forklift

The role offers scope to develop selling skills, customer service and an understanding of materials, stock control, orders and deliveries.

**Essential skills**:
Counterbalance forklift licence

GCSE Maths (minimum grade C or a good understanding of metric and imperial measurements and basic mental arithmetic)

Good paperwork skills

Confident communicator

Proven teamwork skills

Naturally tidy and organised

Willingness to engage with customers and provide good customer service

Ability to follow instructions and work unsupervised once trained

Reliable, industrious, adaptable and quick to grasp new concepts

Manual handling up to 25kg

**Desirable**:
Good knowledge of building materials and their usage

An interest in sales and in the construction industry
