As Room Leader, you will be passionate about working with children, watching them develop under your care and looking to continue your career with a reputable nursery committed to happiness of the children and staff. They need dynamic, driven and committed individuals with a child centred approach.

Must have a minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years education or equivalent, be confident in leading a team of practitioners and must have experience working in a similar role.

Other essential qualities: To have excellent written and spoken English, commitment to helping children thrive and get the best start in life, a warm and positive approach, lots of creative ideas and a willingness to work as part of a team.

At least 3 years-experience of working with toddlers.
As a Room Leader /SENCo you can expect
- To support the day to day running of the room and play a role in the overall management of the nursery through self evaluation and development plans.
- To actively promote the development of an enabling environment which supports children’s care and learning needs
- To train junior staff members in childcare practices to ensure the nursery benefits from a resilient team of practitioners
- To act as a key person for a designated group of children to support their transition into the nursery and their development thereafter
- To ensure your team continually display a positive attitude to supporting children’s needs
- To jump in and embrace your inner child to provide children with a memorable time at nursery

Qualifications and experience

A Level 3 qualification in Childcare such as EYE, NVQ, CACHE or recognised equivalent
Up-to-date first aid and safeguarding training
Good knowledge of child protection procedures and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Excellent references and a clear enhanced DBS (DBS is paid for by Fennies)
Passion for delivering high quality childcare and learning
Exceptional communication skills, energy and a positive 'can do’ attitude
Team player
