Our client, a leading manufacturer in their respective field are looking for a Packaging Buyer to join their team. Working within this established organisation, you will be functioning in a world class environment where Purchasing is of upmost importance.Reporting directly to the Purchasing Director you will play an integral role in achieving Purchasing targets for a true market leading company. With a long-established presence within Leeds this is an ideal opportunity for a strong Packaging Buyer lookingfor their next challenging position with the backing of a stable and secure business.

Role Description:

- Own ongoing pricing/contract negotiations with existing and prospective new suppliers.
- Work closely with SBL Commercial, Marketing and Manufacturing teams to deliver bespoke packaging solutions as required by the business.
- Connect with SBL Materials Planning, and Quality Assurance teams to help them resolve any issues with packaging performance.
- Challenge the current 'status quo' and devise and implement initiatives to further reduce packaging supply costs.
- Be pro-active in ongoing communications with suppliers to ensure that SBL has priority access to new packaging developments which could help provide further 'points of difference' to the Star Brands offering.
- Ongoing maintenance of packaging supplier pricing/specification records which are pivotal for managing the business.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Packaging Buyer Experience
- Experience Within A Packaging Or FMCG Environment Is Essential
- Full UK Driving License
- Strong Project Management Skills
