Ontic, an aerospace industry leading provider of ‘Extended Life Solutions’ for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) legacy and non-core products, has an opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join our team based at our Bishops Cleeve site in Gloucestershire.
Ontic is a success story in the world of aerospace & defence. Founded circa 50 years ago, Ontic was spun out of BBA into the ownership of CVC in 2019 since when it has thrived as a stand-alone business, growing despite the impact of Covid. Ontic has a unique business model - we licence complex components that others no longer wish to make and guarantee their supply through the long remaining life of the aircraft fleets we serve. We operate across many, even most, military and civil platforms with over 6,000 different parts.
What will you be doing?
Reporting to the Head of Operational Finance and supporting the Rest of World (ROW) business, you’ll support our operational colleagues by providing first class financial information that allows them to drive business performance.
You’ll build strong relationships internally with our Supply Chain, Operations and Planning functions to deliver financial targets for the business. You’ll prepare inventory and indirect cost projections to support Forecasting and Budget cycles. You’ll carry out month end responsibilities, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data. In addition you’ll conduct variance analysis between Actuals, Prior Year, Budget and Forecast including root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions.
Within the role you’ll influence relevant management teams and support the site leadership team by challenging decisions and steering strategic alignment. In addition you’ll evaluate and recommend Make vs Buy decisions and suggest solutions to areas of potential control weakness which you identify.
What will you need to know?
You’ll be a part-qualified accountant with proven experience within a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing environment with exposure to inventory. You’ll have advanced Excel skills with proven experience of financial modelling and scenario evaluation.
You’ll be a self starter looking to develop your career within a dynamic and entrepreneurial business. You’ll be comfortable working in a fast-paced and challenging environment where you need to prioritise workload.
The role is based from Bishops Cleeve (GL52 8TW). You’ll be based primarily at one site but will need to attend meetings across both sites on occasion when required. We do not offer hybrid working but have flexibility for you to work from home when needed.
