Trainee or Qualified Preceptorship Practitioner

The Lancashire & South Cumbria Resilience Hub is a newly established service set up to provide support for NHS staff, members of the wider Integrated Care System as well as members of the VCFSE sector who are suffering from psychological trauma or other psychological difficulties e.g., bereavement, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The LSC Resilience Hub provides screening self-assessment options, individual and group psychological interventions for people experiencing psychological distress as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. The LSC Resilience Hub also provides team based resilience and support sessions as well as Workplace Trauma Support across partner organisations. We are currently staffed by CBT therapists, Clinical Psychologists, Health Psychologists and other clinical practitioners.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to develop an extended, bespoke offer to care homes. This new team will provide outreach support into care homes across the Lancashire and South Cumbria geographical area, enabling managers to identify their own and their staff’s needs. This support will be via health promotion and illness prevention work and by identifying and managing current needs. The team will also provide bespoke support and training to develop resilience and wellbeing within this sector. Furthermore, the team may contribute to the assessments and therapy that some care home staff may seek.
The expectation is that the post holders will provide specialist psychological interventions at a system level to promote behaviour change and improve assessment and skills in managing difficult situations. We are interested to hear from psychologists trained to work in this area e.g. trainee, and qualified health psychologists.
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a small team supporting care homes across the LSC ICS footprint. This post is suitable for a Trainee as a preceptorship (Band 6 moving to Band 7 once/ if qualified) or a qualified Practitioner Psychologist (Health/ Clinical/ Counselling) who will be appointed at Band 7. Part time and full-time post holders and job share will be considered. There may also be opportunities for secondments. We welcome Trainees who are registered with either a Doctoral Programme or the BPS QHP.
There will also be opportunities for additional training, CPD, and clinical supervision will be provided. The posts will be a mix of remote and outreach work; some days will be from home, and some travel around Lancashire and South Cumbria will be needed.
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire and South Cumbria area.
