We are recruiting a ‘Head of Grounds and Maintenance’ at Old Down Estate. To fulfil this role you need to have previous experience in a similar role, potentially on an estate or within a hospitality/leisure business. You will be responsible for managing the gardening and maintenance team across the Estate to ensure that all areas are consistently presented and maintained to a high standard.

This is a full-time position, working 45 hours/week during Summer months and 40 hours/week during the Winter months (average 42.5 hours/week per annum). The salary is £28,000 per annum.

**Role responsibilities**:

- Managing the gardening and maintenance team.
- Allocating daily/monthly tasks to the team to ensure all areas of the Estate are maintained and developed.
- Writing and implementing relevant risk assessments and adherence to Health and Safety requirements.
- Liaising with external contractors.
- Working collaboratively with the wider estate team
- Managing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely manner without impeding on customers experiences (Country Park and Wedding guests).
- Be aware of all activities taking place on the Estate and what is required from the Grounds and Maintenance team.

**Previous experience and skills**:

- Experience within a similar role - grounds and maintenance.
- Horticulture qualification would be advantageous.
- Experience of managing gardening, landscaping projects.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Good time management skills, achieving deadlines.
- Team player.
