**Role Purpose**:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer EC&I to join the team. You will work
within a small team of design engineers providing design services to the Capital Projects delivery function within NGN.

**Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:**
- Produce and deliver; Option Studies, Concept Designs and FEED studies, and Detailed Designs for all EC&I related work on our Network Assets
- Design EC&I installation work and produce all necessary calculations
- Produce EC&I design packs, scope of works, Data Sheets, Instrument Schedules, Cable Schedules, MTO’s, Activity Schedules etc
- Check and Approve engineering design work, and design changes, undertaken by other design team members or assigned consultants
- Produce cost estimates for design scopes and support the preparation of business cases for sanction of the required investment
- Produce specifications for survey work and options studies
- Contribute to HAZID, HAZOP, and HAZCON studies and Auditing of the EC&I design function
- Manage EC&I design projects within time and budget constraints and report on progress as required by the Capital Projects IMS
- Assist on all CAPEX projects with Value Engineering studies, Design TQ’s, Lessons Learned Reviews
- Support and coordinate the NGN G17 procedure within the E&I Disciplines during the early stages of projects
- Provide EC&I technical design support to all Project Managers within the CAPEX Programme
- Produce ‘reverse engineered’ design packs and G17 documentation for any legacy project work found to be not fully compliant
- Liaise with 3rd parties to ensure compliance of the full design pack

**Qualifications required (essential)
Essential**:

- Ideally an Incorporated Engineer, with membership of UK professional body
- Degree qualified in a related engineering discipline
- BS7671 wiring regulations
- Fully conversant with software packages such as MS Office, AutoCAD & Amtech

**Desirable:**
- Completed formal training in IGEM standards
- CompEx EX1-4, EX12
- TIM & TEM courses
- SHEA Passport, SCO Training
