Bakery Supervisor

We are looking for a hands-on, motivated Bakery Supervisor to run the day-to-day operation of our busy in-house bakery at Taylor’s of Ashby. You’ll take full ownership of your kitchen — leading a small team to produce our famous pies, pastries, cakes, and baked goods to the highest Taylor’s standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Run your own bakery kitchen — plan daily production, allocate tasks, and ensure smooth workflow.
- Lead, motivate, and support 3-4 bakery team members to maintain performance and morale.
- Oversee production of all bakery products, including pies, pastries, sausage rolls, cakes, and seasonal items.
- Maintain exceptional hygiene and cleanliness standards, following all food safety and HACCP procedures.
- Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all products before they reach the shop or customer.
- Stock control and ordering - manage ingredients, supplies, and packaging to minimise waste and downtime.
- Work closely with the butchery and management teams to coordinate joint product lines, promotions, and seasonal ranges.
- Implement and monitor daily cleaning and quality-control checklists.
- Train and develop team members, setting clear expectations and standards.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience in a bakery, kitchen, or food production supervisory role.
- Strong leadership skills - able to manage, motivate, and organise a small team.
- Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Passion for quality, consistency, and presentation.
- Reliable, organised, and proactive with good communication skills.
- A positive attitude and pride in maintaining a spotless, efficient bakery.
