Senior Insight Analyst

Our Insight & Analytics team is right at the heart of TalkTalk, playing a vital role in supporting business partners to achieve company goals through data-led initiatives. More recently, we’ve extended our insight capability to help our partners throughour TalkTalk Wholesale Services channel, and is increasingly becoming a key service.

The Senior Insight Analyst role will play a big contribution in executing our 'Greater with Data’ strategy. It is a highly visible role with responsibility for maintaining strong analytical business partnerships across our Business teams. You will also playa role in helping to create our data-first culture which champions the power of insight. The ability to articulate value creation from analysis is key requirement within this role.

About the role
- Optimises the use of data and analytics to deliver value creating insights into:

- Customer acquisition and lifecycle management
- Churn prediction and reduction
- Customer experience transformation
- Cost to serve optimisation
- Collate, interrogate and interpret a range of data and translate into actionable insight, delivering value as a key principle
- Generate insight for our external partners that supports their business objectives
- Build and support of key data analysis to support value add upsell and churn reduction programmes through both commercial and operational analysis, across both our direct and wholesale customer base, as well as directly with our partners
- Deliver effective dashboards enabling the business to self-serve on simple insights
- Works in partnership with the Data Platforms team to develop and implement simple tools to enable commercial and operational teams to 'self-serve’
- Drive increased insight capability, demonstrating innovation and 'spiking’ in quality of insight and methodology of delivery
- Ability to work directly with stakeholders to answer ad hoc business questions with clearly articulated insights
- Support wider team to identify key trends and opportunities for improvement across the commercial /operational teams with ability to communicate this articulately to stakeholders
- More widely, acts as a catalyst for building data and insight capability across the wider group, working cross-functionally
- Adopt a test and learn approach, using the data to guide you to strategic recommendations
- Management of a variety of ad hoc data analysis project with a requirement to translate this into meaningful insight for the business
- Proactively identifies value creation opportunities across the organisation, including developing business cases, as required
- Prioritises problems that have the most value to the organisation using strong commercial acumen
- Plays a role in driving cultural change at TalkTalk, raising awareness to the power of data and insight, and contributing to a vision that people can get behind and feel excited about - whatever their role
- Any other duties required that are appropriate with the post, grade and level of responsibility of this role, for which the role holder has the necessary experience and/or training
- Empowers and partners with key decision makers to ensure timely, comprehensive and insightful information that has business impact. Provides challenge where appropriate
- Ability to scale large data sets and extract relevant insights in a timely manner
- Advanced in SQL and other programming experience, possible experience of Digital Analytics capability (GA360, Adobe etc) as well as Cloud experience (Azure, AWS, GCP) and PowerBI. Python / R also advantageous alongside some knowledge of open source data
- Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills (both oral and written), with an ability to generate insights across multiple sources of data

- Comprehensive knowledge, training and experience in data analysis, reporting and good awareness of data warehousing, physical and logical data modelling, statistical analysis tools, data governance and master data management
- Strong operational delivery track record, motivated to implement/deliver on time to quality standards and, critically, build new efficient processes at pace
- Commercially aware and capable of interpreting business needs and requirements in a compelling and understandable way to stakeholders
- A track record of collaborating with senior leaders on strategic initiatives
- Acts as a sounding board and expert advisor to senior leaders as they tackle complex business problems

To succeed in this role you must have the following:

- SQL / Python / R / SAS Skills
- Proven analytical ability across large and complicated datasets
- Ability to create commentary which brings insight to the data
- Effective story telling skills and the ability to communicate complex insight succinctly to both technical and non technical audiences
