Start Date: 01/10/25
Salary (Actual Salary): £25,863 - £26,723
Working Pattern: 37 Hours Per week, Monday to Friday, Term Time Plus Ten Days
About the School:
Being part of Outwood Academy City Fields is about bringing high-quality opportunities and experiences to our diverse school. We wish to employ someone who can provide meaningful engagement and help all children, staff and visitors thrive in the areas they work in.
City Fields is a multicultural school in the heart of the Wakefield community. Our school supports the local community and the wealth of opportunities our diverse background brings. Anyone wanting to take on this role should be prepared to challenge themselves to meet the needs of a diverse community.
Ofsted noted that putting ‘students first’ is something that directs and guides’ actions each day. 'Because leaders set such a strong example of their high ambitions for pupils, other staff mirror these aspirations’, ‘Outwood Academy City Fields is a school where leaders want the very best for pupils' in whatever walk of life they engage in. We hope you can join us on our journey.
About the Role:
As a safeguarding officer you will play a key role in ensuring the ongoing health and welfare of students across the academy, this includes the coordination of safeguarding referrals, arranging actions and reviewing services for children and families.
You will work directly with both in need students and their families to promote, strengthen and develop the support being provided by families and carers, this will also include liaising with external agencies to ensure all parties have the necessary and relevant information required.
Due to the nature of this role, applicants must have previous experience of working with children, families and external agencies, with previous experience of social services work being essential. Applicants must have a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection, with an ability to work in both a team as well as an individual.
What are we looking for?
You will have experience of working with children and/or families within a safeguarding and child protection environment as well as experience of working with other agencies or third parties. A committed team worker, you will carry a caseload and work on your own initiative. Time management skills are essential given the variety of this challenging yet rewarding role.
