Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom Club Fetch Newcastle Full time

**£10 per hour - Zero Hour, Part Time**

**Wages will be paid weekly on a Saturday evening.**

Job Description
- Dog Walking opportunity with flexible working hours. Working individually as part of an excellent team, covering West end of Newcastle areas, within a supported role with opportunities for personal development.

You will be required to walk groups of between 6-10 dogs and pick up and drop off each of them. You will only ever walk a group of 6 dogs when out in public and anything above this you will be scheduled to take them to our secure/private field. Therefore, you must have a full, clean driving license and a suitable sized vehicle for transporting dogs when the van is in use.

Our dogs range from as small as Daschunds to as big as Great Danes, so full confidence working with all dogs of all sizes is essential. You will need to clean down all dogs after the walks, if required with towels provided. Walking locations will be provided and will vary therefore you will require an up to date Sat Nav. We walk in all weather conditions come rain or shine and you will be expected to do so to be accepted for this role.

Some of our dogs have issues like anxiety and can be nervous when being introduced to the pack. You will need to be patient and understanding and will be trained on how to handle these clients. But a general understanding of dog body language and behaviour is essential because of this.

You will have an average amount of hours each week but you will need to be flexible to take on additional hours as and when required. Therefore it would average around 9 hours per week but could potentially be up to 18 hours. How often this happens as well as for how long a duration will be random and can not be predicted, hence the need for full flexibility.

You will be on a zero hour contract but as already stated above you will have an average amount of hours each week. The reason for zero hour contracts is due to the nature of the business, holidays, cancellations, Christmas, school holidays etc.

We operate between Mondays and Saturdays, your working days will vary and you will be required to work alternate Saturdays.

We have our own private/secure field which we host puppy parties at and you will be required to host some of these parties when required. Which will be paid at your hourly rate and these parties are held in the evenings anywhere up to 8pm on weekdays and on Saturday mornings/afternoons anywhere as early as 10am, with each party lasting only 1 hour in total.

You will be fully trained prior to going out alone and covering all the above. Training will be a total of 3 weeks with the first week being unpaid, due to the fact you will only be shadowing.

**There is a 6 month probationary period included with this role.**

Essential Requirements
- Up to date, clean DBS certificate
- You may be required to cover and host events held at our private field which will be paid at your hourly rate, which can run in the evenings anywhere up to 8pm & start as early as 10am
- Full/Clean UK driving license
- Access to a vehicle that you’re willing to transport up to 6 dogs in
- Experience working with dogs in a previous role

- Availability to work between the hours of 8am and 8pm at least 3 weekdays & if/when required up to 6 weekdays.
- Up to date Sat Nav
- Physically fit and active as the role is demanding
- You will be required to monitor the dogs behavior whilst out with them & report anything back to management immediately, if you have any concerns.
- You may be required from time to time to attend meetings with potential new clients in the absence of management, which you would be paid under your hourly rate for.
- Full confidence letting up to 6 dogs off lead in a none enclosed area
- Ability to use your own initiative and be quick thinking
- Hold a high level of common sense
- Ability to work well under pressure and have patience in high pressure situations
- Happy to work in all weathers and seasons
