London, United Kingdom East London NHS Foundation Trust Full time

We are looking for a self motivated and independent NRPF Caseworker to deliver casework of a high standard to support people to address immigration related issues with the Home Office and assist towards independence and self sufficiency.

The applicant will have a specialist expert knowledge of Immigration, Housing and Human Rights law as well as relevant statutory guidance and case law.
- To implement statutory safeguarding duties to alleviate destitution when people have ‘no recourse to public funds’ and cannot access housing support or welfare benefits but are owed a duty of care (including financial assistance) under social services’ legislation
- To deliver casework of a high standard to support people to address immigration related issues with the Home Office and assist in the towards independence and self-sufficiency
- Costs incurred as a result of implementing statutory duties to alleviate destitution are not reimbursed by government and this creates considerable financial risks for the council as a result of the ‘NRPF’ condition and national immigration policy
- An effective way to control costs for the council is to reduce the time families and adults remain in receipt of financial support, caseworkers will be expected to implement intensive and informed case-work support to achieve this.

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive - so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.

Kindly refer to the job description and person specification that is attached to the vacancy profile.
