Our client is a secondary alternative education provision based in Coventry and they are seeking to employ graduates with a degree associated with Criminology. The Coventry provision caters for young people who have been excluded from mainstream educationas a result of not being able to cope in a traditional school environment. The overall goal of the alternative provision is to manage and address the difficulties which lead to the exclusion, all in an effort to transition the young people back into mainstreameducation.

They are now seeking to employ two Criminology graduates to work on a full time, long term consistent basis within the provision as teaching assistants until the end of the academic year.

The role of a teaching assistant at this Coventry provision will allow the Criminology graduate to build positive relationships with young people. They will also have to handle difficult scenarios in a way which enables the young people to progress and remainengaged in the respective lesson.

The ideal teaching assistant/Graduate for this Coventry provision will have a degree relating to Criminology. Ideally having a background of utilising your degree in a practical capacity is important for this position, but not imperative. You must also havea confident personality and will not be fazed by behaviours which could be described as ‘challenging’.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
