**Do you want to be a SEN Teaching Assistant?**

We are working with an amazing school in the Southwark/Camberwell area to fill the position of Teaching Assistant in a SEN School. The school puts a focus on teaching the pupils life skills and the role can be very rewarding as you prepare the students for life after college. The school provides the students with vocational opportunities being provided to them in an environment which inspires through creative and individualised programs. The staff have a can do attitude and celebrate the talents and contributions from the students regularly as they build a good relationship and bond with the students.

As Teaching Assistant you will be working with young adults who have autism, severe learning difficulties and profound multiple learning disabilities. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to find a career in a SEN environment to gain experience as well as for applicants who have previously worked SEN roles to work in a new environment amongst great staff and an amazing school. Experience with autism and complex medial needs either inside a professional environment or outside of one will be required.

The school works closely with the community and the successful applicant will assist the student with learning life skills and working alongside various vocational guests who will teach skills such as construction, painting and more.

The pupils can have volatile behaviour so experience with challenging behaviour isn’t essential but is desirable. Personal care and support is also required in this role such as assisting with going to the bathroom.
