**Job description**

To provide a comprehensive housekeeping service for all our ladies and gentlemen, employees and visitors to the care home.

To ensure that the interior of the establishment, furniture, fittings and fixtures are clean, tidy and maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Maintain a clean, safe working environment in accordance with agreed standards, legislative requirements, relevant regulations, in line with accepted best practice and within the financial plans agreed.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- To clean the ladies and gentlemen's bedrooms, communal areas, corridors, visitor’s cloakrooms, private dining space, and all areas of the Home that are not the responsibility of the Catering department.
- To clean floors, work surfaces, and related equipment manually and also by use of the equipment provided.
- To be responsible for the ladies, gentlemen and the home’s laundry, adhering to policies and procedures relevant to working in the Laundry. Ensuring that all daily, weekly and monthly records are kept as required.
- To wear all appropriate PPE equipment for specific activities.
- To ensure that proper standards of cleanliness are maintained.
- To exercise due diligence and to ensure that standards of hygiene are strictly maintained.
- To comply with requirements of cleaning schedules and ensure that all daily, weekly and monthly records are kept as required.
- To ensure that adequate and safe storage of all housekeeping products and equipment.
- To comply with regulations in respect of Health & Safety at Work, COSHH, Environmental Health and Fire Procedures.
- To promptly report all mechanical defects and hazards to the Head Housekeeper.
- Support the implementation, orientation and induction of new employees.
- Be responsible for developing own skills and knowledge.
