Despatch Clerk

**DESPATCH CLERK / TRANSPORT ADMINISTRATOR**
**Location: Blantyre**:
**Salary**: £27,100 per annum

Shift pattern: Tues to Saturday

**Job description**

A new opportunity has risen for a full time Despatch Clerk within our fast paced food and drinks wholesale distribution business, servicing many of Scotland’s best known pubs, clubs and restaurants. You will be responsible for ensuring all agreed and relevant administration is carried out in an efficient and timely manner, including reporting and resourcing.

**What will I be responsible for?**
- Administration of all relevant paperwork and data within the department
- Ensuring daily reports and KPI data is up to date and correct for compliance purposes
- Organising paperwork - filing and scanning, ensuring all relevant checks are carried out
- Communicating with ops team for regular updates on the progress of each service
- Communicating with customers, through regular updates, of service progress
- Daily driver debrief at end of shift and generating customer credit notes
- Following customer and internal procedures in an effective and efficient way, completing all necessary documents and forwarding to relevant recipients
- Updating relevant spread sheets for internal monitoring purposes
- Organising delivery runs
- Booking any additional resources required to fulfil daily requirements
- Providing holiday cover across the department when necessary

**Skills and Experience**

You will have a great attention to detail and the ability to use your own initiative supported by good numerical and computer skills working with Microsoft Excel and Word. You need to be resilient, team orientated and have good communication skills, demonstrating a positive attitude and a determination to work hard. The ability to deal with a high volume of paperwork, phone calls and human interactions and experience in a similar Administration role would be desirable.

Ideally you will have a background within Transport, however this is non-essential.
