Blue Arrow are currently looking for self motivated hospital porters to work in support of a hospital in Haywood ST6. This is an ongoing position that will have you joining a leading food and facilities management company. If you enjoy an active, involved position, and love working with people, this would be a perfect opportunity for you. This position allows you to participate in supporting the day to day running of the hospital and supporting a positive patient environment.

The shift pattern has you working 4 days on, 4 days off on shift times of either 08:00-16:00 or 11:00-19:00. You would need to be available for either of these shift times.

The pay rate for this position is £8.91 (£8.36 if you are under 23).

You would need to complete a variety of tasks in a hospital environment including:

- Helping to move patients safely between wards and departments by the appropriate means (wheelchair, walking, trolley or rolling bed)
- Ensure wheelchairs and trolleys are kept clean to minimise the risks of infection to patients and staff, (adhering to the Infection Control Policy)
- Promptly attend medical emergencies including cardiac arrests with the resus trolley/bag and maintain a calm and pleasant attitude whilst under stress
- Happily undertake any other necessary duties when directed
- Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the Porters lodge
- Empathy towards patients and visitors
- Excellent customer service skills
- The ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Willingness to follow directions, while being self-motivated to complete tasks
- Patient communication and customer care skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
