Dovehaven Care Homes are Recruiting for a **Support Worker** to join our team at **Cedar Garden, Tag Lane, Preston. **Working **8am-8pm OR 8pm
- 8am with alternate weekend availability required**

**Cedar Garden** is a 30 bed dementia specialist, male only facility**. **Our aim is to ensure all our residents feel as comfortable as possible, our homes promote independence, dignity and respect through positive risk taking and empowerment.

**About the role**:
As a Support Worker, you will assist other staff in the running of the Home and maintain high standards of care towards Residents, relatives, visitors & other members of staff.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide assistance, personal care, activities and companionship to residents
- Be alert to residents’ needs, health and wellbeing
- Respect the residents’ dignity and privacy
- Work with residents and their families to deliver tailored care to each individual
- Assist with mealtimes and safe moving
- Maintain accurate records for each resident

**Skills and Experience**:

- Passionate about delivering first-class care
- Patient, kind and understanding
- Reliable and respectful
- Have strong interpersonal skills
- Be a team player
- Have the ability to use initiative
- Previous working experience within a complex care EMI/Dementia Setting
- Dependable, able to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the needs of this specialist Unit as some of the service users will express acute distressed and or challenging behaviour

**Qualifications**:

- An NVQ level 2 in health & social care is essential along with a dedicated passion for providing exceptional care.
