Customer Service Advisor

InXpress is a growing international express and freight company, reselling the services of market leaders in the transportation industry. We are looking for a dynamic Customer Service Advisor to join our team. We act as a key link between our customers and the couriers to ensure the transportation process happens as smoothly as possible.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Deal directly with customers to provide advice, answer queries and resolve delivery issues
- Proactively track customer shipments, liaise with the carriers to solve identified problems and communicate with customers
- Working closely with the Sales Team, source freight costs and provide quotes for customers
- Process courier and freight bookings
- Develop good relationships with customers through regular contact to aid retention
- Identify opportunities within the existing client base to build volumes or increase margins
- Reactivation of lapsed/past customers
- Communicate opportunities, information or feedback gathered through customer contact to appropriate company staff
- Monitor customer payments due and intervene where necessary to minimise overdue payments
- General administration work to aid the sales team
- Other duties as assigned
**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS**
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are required
- Confident telephone manner
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Able to build rapport with customers
- Able to work as part of a team and also on own initiative
- Able to handle complaints, even when handling frustrated customers
- Strong general IT knowhow in order to become proficient with new systems
- Competent in Word, Excel and Outlook are essential
- Ability to prioritise workload and work in an efficient manner
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to see a job through
- Previous courier or freight experience is an advantage, although not essential as full training will be given
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: £22,000.00 per year
