**Apprenticeship Qualification: AAT Level 2**
**How does the Apprenticeship work?**
As an Apprentice, you will be employed, just like anyone else at the company, the difference is that you will be studying towards a qualification.
You’ll spend a minimum of 6 hours a week (of your total working hours) in a number of different Training, Learning & Development Activities that all develop your Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours in line with your Apprenticeship Qualification. These will include (for example) staff meetings, online courses, shadowing other team members, as well as ongoing coaching and mentoring from/with your line manager.
AAT Level 2 and Level 3 (industry recognised Qualifications) are delivered on a modular basis, via fortnightly Tutor led group workshops (live, virtual 6-hour sessions) and bi-monthly exams, taken at a local accredited / approved AAT testing centre (location to be confirmed). You will also complete study, assignments and coursework, and a blend of learning and development activities, all, within the workplace, and will be given ‘Protected Time’ each week to do this - so no homework This will all prepare you for your End Point Assessment (EPA) once you have completed all the learning required. Established in 2016 by Georgia Larsen, an ex-lingerie and fashion buyer, Dora Larsen combines innovative colour combinations with contemporary lingerie shapes. Tired of wearing uncomfortable and uninspiring bras, Georgia decided to create something of her own. The idea for Dora Larsen was born. Named after Georgia’s childhood dog, Dora Larsen offered something special that women could wear every day, that was elevated, and made them feel empowered to dress for themselves.
Today, she runs the brand alongside her husband, Jake. Having recently left the city for a back-to-basics lifestyle in the countryside, Georgia and Jake split their time between their woodland cottage in Somerset, and the Dora Larsen office in Bermondsey, London.
Producing responsibly, with the highest grade of fit and durability, is a core value of the brand. They strive to be change-makers within the industry, and use their platform to raise awareness on the topic of sustainable production, as well as our physical and spiritual connection to the planet. The independently owned brand creates two collections a year, spanning across lingerie and more recently, sleepwear. Each collection is designed in London and produced in limited quantities.
**About the team**:
The apprentice will be joining the Wholesale, Finance & Operations Team at Dora Larsen, which is currently a small team of 3.
They will be reporting directly to the Finance & Operations Director who is ACA qualified and Big 4 trained.
The wider team consists of 10 employees including the founders, across Marketing, Production, Customer Service and the Wholesale, Finance & Operations Team.
**About the Role**:
This is a multi-faceted role and would suit a motivated individual who is keen to develop a career in accounting. You will be given exposure to all areas of finance, including credit control and management reporting.
In this exciting start-up environment, you will be involved in key operational tasks and gain exposure to Wholesale Operations.
**And Day to Day?. You will be Responsible for**:
- Ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounting entries on Xero
- Preparing reports and reconciling the sales ledger on a weekly basis
- Helping to prepare the monthly management accounts, including drafting month end journals
- Performing Month End Reconciliations (e.g stock movement)
- Supporting the Finance & Operations Director in producing the Profit & Loss and Cash Flow Statement
- Invoice processing and raising payments on Bankline
- Accounts receivable management; recording payments received from customers and following up on outstanding accounts
- Preparing submission of the VAT Return
- Other ad-hoc admin and operational tasks as required
