As primary investment area within Goldman Sachs, we provide investment and advisory services for pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, endowments, foundations, financial advisors and individuals.
The Global Fixed Income and Currency team is looking to hire an Insurance Portfolio Manager at Vice President level in London. The position will involve immediate client-facing responsibilities, as well an ensuring that portfolio construction and risk is appropriateto meet client objectives.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop and maintain framework for portfolio construction to manage complex client portfolios, aligning with active investment views and consistent with client objectives
- Maintain and expand existing client relationships through communication of relevant market / portfolio information and opportunities by leading periodic portfolio reviews in addition to investment committee presentations.
- Drive new business initiatives by analyzing prospective client portfolios, completion of request-for-proposal documentation in addition to providing broad support to Sales and Client Relationship Management teams.
- Coordinate and direct trading activity relating to cash or in-kind contributions or withdrawals.
**Qualifications**:
- 5+ years of work experience in fixed income asset management or related field. Specific insurance industry experience in addition to a CFA is a plus
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and excellent follow-through
- Strong knowledge and appreciation for processes around operational nuances as well as portfolio management metrics
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Strong interpersonal skills: Ability to build trust and confidence of colleagues, strengthen relationships through ongoing dialog ue and interactions, and collaborate well with others
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
- Strong skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
- Undergraduate degree in maths, physics, hard sciences, computer science, engineering, preferred. Other backgrounds considered based on ability to demonstrate quantitative skills
