Our client is seeking a Full Time Yard Operative to work at their site in Hailsham, East Sussex.

**About the Company**

The company is one of the UK’s leading scrap metal processers and exporters. A highly respected fourth-generation family business, and they now have five UK sites located at Hailsham, Hastings and Newhaven in East Sussex as well as two at Ashford in Kent.

**Role Requirements**
- You Will be responsible for yourself and others in all aspects of Health & Safety and the Environment and responsible for reporting all Accidents, Incidents and Near Misses to the Yard Manager.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness for their area of work, as well as ensuring that all Defect Reporting Sheets are completed daily and returned to the Site Manager for the plant and equipment that they are trained and authorised to use.
- Assist in the manual loading of containers and lorries of metal waste materials for dispatch to overseas customers.
- Where required, you will operate metal weighing scales and complete in-coming material dockets and give them to the yard weighbridge office.
- Assist in the control and direction of customers and customers vehicles coming into the yard to weigh off and to deposit their metal waste material.
- Interacting with clients and client representatives in a professional and courteous manner.
- Prepared to work outside and in varying weather conditions dependent on the time of year.
- Prepared to undertake a range of roles and activities for the efficient day-to-day operations within a busy Metal Recycling Yard.
