Prep Kitchen is looking for a skilled and reliable Proseal and Label Machine Operator to join our busy production team. The operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the Proseal tray-sealing machinery and the Ravenwood labelling machine to ensure efficient packaging processes in a high-volume food production environment. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to food safety and quality standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Machine Operation**_
- Set up the Proseal machine and Ravenwood labeller according to production requirements, ensuring correct tray sizes, film placement, and sealing parameters.
- Operate the Proseal machine to seal trays of food products accurately and efficiently, ensuring high-quality standards.
- Monitor machine settings and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal production speed and quality.
- Ensure that the machine operates smoothly, with mínimal downtime and rejects.
- **Quality Control**_
- Perform regular quality checks to ensure sealed trays meet specifications for appearance, seal integrity, and label accuracy.
- Identify and remove any defective products, rework as needed, and report quality issues to the Production Supervisor and Manager.
- Record production data and quality checks for each batch to ensure traceability and compliance with company standards.
- **Maintenance and Troubleshooting**_
- Conduct basic preventive maintenance on the Proseal machine, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing minor parts as needed.
- Troubleshoot common mechanical issues to minimize production interruptions, coordinating with maintenance technicians for more complex repairs.
- Perform routine inspections and report any potential mechanical issues or safety hazards to the Production Supervisor and Manager.
- **Key Skills & Experience**_
- **Experience**: Previous experience operating Proseal or similar tray-sealing machinery in a food production environment is highly desirable.
- **Mechanical Skills**: Basic mechanical skills for machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
- **Attention to Detail**: Ability to perform quality checks and monitor machine settings closely to ensure high standards.
- **Physical Stamina**: Ability to stand for long periods and handle physical tasks in a chilled, fast-paced environment.
- **Problem-Solving**: Quick thinker who can troubleshoot machine issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
- **Qualifications**_
- Basic knowledge of food safety regulations, such as HACCP, is beneficial.
- **Safety and Compliance**_
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring the machine is operated in a safe manner and that food safety standards are met.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure proper handling and storage of materials.
- Follow company SOPs, GMPs, and HACCP protocols to maintain a safe and compliant working environment
- **Additional Requirements**_
- Ability to work flexible hours, including shifts, weekends, or overtime as required.
- Understanding of health and safety standards in a food production setting.

**Tuesday - Thursday 7pm-6am (night shift)**

**Saturday 10am-8pm (day shift)**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: £12.60-£13.90 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 41 per week
