Lead Control Systems Engineer

Techniche are supporting a leading automation organisation with appointing a new Lead Control Systems Engineer.
The company specialize in oil & gas production, transportation and processing with a team of over a 1,000 experts serving customers globally.
This role is focused on leading the design, implementation, test and customer interface for the support business. Based within the company UK Oil & Gas domain, but with a requirement to provide flexible support to a number of offices as required.
**Responsibilities**:
- Team player involved in leading local resources for site services and support contract work scopes.
- Preparation of requirement, functional, design, test and other specifications, plans, drawings and software in accordance with Company procedures, including control system design and modification to existing system.
- Project execution of allocated projects throughout the project life cycle, in compliance with the companies QA Standards and Procedures, from initial design concept through to installation and subsequent client support.
- Provide verbal and written reports to communicate project status as required and contribute to project review meetings.
- Attend sites both in UK and abroad as required, including rota-based visits and short notice site attendance. Visits will include regular healthcare, product service, installation and commissioning of Sensia supplied equipment and systems, as well as emergencyresponse support.
- Prepare all necessary paper work required prior to and post site visits, including Site Visit Report, Method Statements and Risk Assessment.
- Provide technical telephone assistance to customers when necessary, including, on a rota basis, with the carrying of a mobile phone covering out of hours support, as well as follow up support services as part of the resolution of outstanding actions andissues, progressing to closeout.
- Plan, schedule, coordinate with external parties’ project or support deliverables, including management of own and others time.
**Job Requirements**:
- Hardware and software design and support experience relating to control system equipment PC’s, PLC’s (panels, control desks and control rooms) and integration of other manufacturers equipment. Knowledge of some or all the following PLC and SCADA productswould be desirable: GE RX7i/RX3i, GE 90/30, GE 90/70, Trusted/Plantguard TMR, AADvance, Regent, Allen Bradley PLC5, CLX, SLC500, Cimplicity, FT View, Wonderware InTouch, Panorama.
- Knowledge of communications protocols including Modbus, OPC, DH+, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, ControlNet.
- Understanding of Control and Instrumentation. Understanding of Functional Safety Management requirements to IEC 61508 & IEC61511.
