**Housekeeping Assistant**

Melrose Care Home, a family run, 25 bed nursing home based in Worthing, West Sussex provide second-to-none care for our residents, offering a truly personal experience for everyone who lives with us.

As a nursing home rated “Outstanding” by CQC we are seeking to recruit both full-time and part-time Housekeeping Assistants to join our committed and driven team and to uphold the same ethos and passion for care that we do.

**The main duties to include, but not limited to**:

- To clean all floor surfaces, carpeted and non-carpeted.
- To dust and polish furniture, moving it periodically for this purpose.
- To clean paintwork.
- To clean toilets and baths, and equipment where necessary.
- To refill and restock cleaning supplies and toiletries, toilet rolls, paper towels, soaps etc when necessary.
- To carry out deep cleans.
- To undertake any duties in the laundry as required.
- To assist with catering and meal arrangements as required.
- To observe safe working practices at all time and avoid creating hazards around the home.
- To report any faulty equipment/maintenance requirements to a senior member of staff.
- To undertake any other duties as reasonably requested.
- To answer the front door, greet visitors and direct as appropriate.
- To be available to attend mandatory staff training and staff meetings.

**Salary**: Excellent rates of pay dependent on experience.

28 hours per week, to include weekends.

**Requirements**:
The right person will be/have:

- Able to communicate both written and verbally.
- Able to work using own initiative.
- Flexible in attitude.
- Physically fit.
- A kind and compassionate nature with respect and understanding towards our residents.
- Trustworthy and honest.
- Understanding of Infection Prevention & Control and to adhere to this at all times.

**Desirable**
- Experience of working with older people.
- Previous experience relevant to the job role.
- A willingness to attend training and develop own skills.

Melrose Care Home does not have any on-site parking, however there is parking available on local streets.
