**About the Role**

As a **Medical Records Officer**, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate preparation, maintenance, and accessibility of patient records across a range of clinical services. You’ll be responsible for supporting clinical and administrative teams by managing documentation for upcoming clinics, theatre, procedures, and travel clinics. While safeguarding patient confidentiality in line with GDPR and information governance guidelines. This operational support role contributes directly to the smooth running of hospital services by enabling timely access to complete and accurate records. In addition, you will work closely with colleagues to improve information management processes and ensure records systems are up to date, reliable, and aligned with service needs.

**What You’ll Be Doing**
- Prepare and organise patient records in advance of clinics, theatre admissions, treatments and procedures
- Ensure all required documentation are accurately filed and readily accessible for clinical teams
- Efficiently locate and retrieve patient notes upon request from clinical or administrative teams
- Maintain patient confidentiality and data security in accordance with regulatory standards
- Provide timely support to clinicians and administrative colleagues by ensuring comprehensive and accurate record availability
- Utilise electronic systems (APAS etc) to accurately log, update, and retrieve patient data

**About You**
- Demonstrated administrative experience, preferably within a healthcare or records management environment
- Sound knowledge of data protection legislation, including GDPR and principles of information governance
- Exceptional attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Strong organisational abilities, with proven capability in time and workload management
- Proficient in the use of IT systems and databases
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and courteous approach
