Veterinary Nursing Assistant

We are looking for an experienced VCA/ANA to join our friendly team at our independent veterinary practice in Bolton, Greater Manchester. We are a small animal only practice with a growing client base who are loyal and compliant. We have a higher than average percentage of insured clients, which allows us to provide the best care and treatment to our patients.
Our new team member will have experience in a veterinary practice - this is essential. Ideally you will have experience in all parts of practice life, as you will be involved in typical nursing duties and also reception and customer care.
We are a small and friendly team of staff, so finding somebody to fit in to this is very important to us. You will be motivated and enthusiastic about the role, and in return we will offer an opportunity to increase your knowledge and skills through career progression.
Our nursing team currently have a varied working day which will include admitting/discharging patients, running bloods and other lab work, setting up and monitoring patients throughout GA and subsequent recovery, inpatient care and treatment. We also promote a variety of nurse clinics to our clients, including weight clinics, puppy/kitten progress checks and post op checks. We have X-Ray, ultrasound, endoscope and lab facilities on site.
Our entire team partake in reception/dispensary duties daily. This will involve answering the telephone, booking appointments and taking payments, as well as dispensing and advising on medication. It is essential that you are comfortable with this.
Hours of work will be 39.75 hours per week with either early or late shifts Monday-Friday and 1 in 2 Saturday mornings. No OOH requirement. Salary and benefits are dependent on experience (at least £21,703.50/year), and include 28 days holiday, pension scheme, CPD funding and a staff discount scheme.
