In the role of Catering Assistant in one of the college refectories, you’ll be based at our Springfield college campus in Dewsbury. Your focus will be on providing a welcoming yet professional approach to providing students and staff with good quality food which is a varied menu offer, healthy, meets a wide range of dietary requirements, and is value for money.
Your key responsibilities will be to accept deliveries, place orders, prepare and serve food and drinks, keep the kitchen and refectory in a clean and acceptable condition, and handle cash and card payments to the college community.
Ideally, you’ll have a current Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (or be able to prove equivalent ability) and demonstrable experience in customer service, hygiene, and following instruction. It’s important that you’re able to communicate effectively with staff and students alike, engage easily with our students and be able to clearly demonstrate our College values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence in your role.
Due to the nature of our work, it’s essential you’re committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. You will also be provided with appropriate personal protective equipment for the role.
