**Overall purpose of the job:**
The IT Support Apprentice will contribute to the smooth running of IT hardware and software for the business. The main responsibility is to provide 1st line support to our user base to a high standard with as little impact on user’s work as possible. Aspart of this role you will also be required to travel to our other offices to provide off-site support.
**Duties and responsibilities:**
- Check key systems proactively to ensure any issues are recognized before they affect employees working activity.
- Work with the team to plan and implement desk moves within the office as required by working with users to ensure a minimum amount of disruption.
- New Starters: Work with the team to setup new starter accounts (software/hardware) follow and update processes where needed.
- Leavers: Work with the team managing equipment return and account cancellation. Update processes where needed.
- Asset Management: Work with the team so IT stock is kept up to date and at a reasonable level of supply, notifying your line manager of low stock in advanced to avoid any negative impact on the business. Ensure that asset lists and user lists are kept upto date. Managing hardware assets within company guidelines for decommissioning equipment.
- Servicing: Ensure that user equipment is maintained correctly, including hardware and software servicing.
- Work with the team and manage our relationship with external suppliers, including contacting technical support and arranging engineer visits if necessary, meeting with suppliers to discuss IT/equipment issues and gather information on new products/services.
- Make recommendations for upgrades/improvements to ensure that the company remains efficient and up to date in terms of its technology and equipment.
- Obtain feedback from users on experiences and issues when using the company systems.
- Work with the team on other projects as required.

**Entry requirements:**
You need to have 5 GCSE’s:
- Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades D or above
**Future prospects**:
Upon completion of the Apprenticeship, there is an opportunity to become a Full Time Employee of MMR Research Ltd.

QA’s apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education.
To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
