Placements Officer

Within your role as a placements officer you will be responsible for running an effective duty system. You will oversee the daily operations of the service, to respond to planned and emergency placement requests, ensuring Placement Officers are positioned to be responsive and proactive in leading placement searches. You will also provide the daily oversight of Placement Officers work, to ensure that an effective service is delivered, giving children and young people an experience of connection, and belonging in their care placement.

The Service is pivotal for all our children coming into care, and those children who change placement during their care journey, overseeing the brokerage of all placements with external placement providers: independent fostering agencies, registered children's home, and supported accommodation.

In order to be considered for the role you will need to have an excellent understanding of safeguarding and be a strong advocate for promoting care placements which meet the holistic needs and lived experiences of Looked After Children and Young People. You will have a good understanding of relevant legislation, regulatory frameworks, and care planning.

**Person Specification**

We are seeking two suitably experienced professionals with recent experience of working in a placements / procurement team, either adults or children, and have some experience of staff supervision, or can demonstrate proven transferable supervisory skills to manage the daily operations of the service.

In return for your hard work the council can offer an ongoing locum role with a high probability of the position turning permanent in the future, should you wish. The working hours for the role are Monday - Friday 9-5 with a pay rate on offer of £26.03 per hour.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: £26.00-£26.03 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
