**Peer Support Worker - Basingstoke - £11.44 per hour.** **Hours: 22.5 hours per week - working pattern can be discussed at interview.** The mental health and wellbeing of the communities across Hampshire is our top priority and we are looking for a Peer Practitioner to join a brand new mental health service across the Primary Care Networks in Basingstoke, Rural West. Primary Care Networks (PCNs) are groups of GP practices who work together in a local geographical area and over the couple of years, we have been working with the NHS to improve the local mental health services within GP surgeries in our region. As an integral and highly valued member of our team, this is an opportunity to "give something back" in a positive way by sharing wisdom from your own lived experience of mental health problems, our Peer Support Workers inspire hope and belief that recovery is possible. Our Peer Support Worker build feelings of empowerment, self-esteem and confidence and enable people to regain control of their lives and their own unique recovery process. Peer support is a strengths-based approach which recognises the individual as a whole person rather than only focusing on the problem. Work is carried out in GP surgeries. This is a non-clinical role which promotes self help and works as an integral part of a new Primary Care Mental Health Service. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team alongside other professionals such as; Peer Practitioners, psychological therapists, social prescribers and a dedicated GP Lead. Hours will be worked in an outreach capacity, GP surgeries located within the Basingstoke area, some hours may be worked at the Basingstoke Wellbeing Centre and there may be some opportunities for home working.
