Due to continuing growth and development of Merlin’s attractions and brands on a global scale, we are looking for a **Regional Head of CWE - UK** to join our **Conservation, Welfare & Education** team on a permanent basis. The role can be based at multiple SEA LIFE or Merlin sites in the UK, with a hybrid element for those looking for more flexibility.

You will partner with General Managers, Business Unit Heads, Divisional Directors and the Brand team to ensure the development and coordination of the essential expertise to maintain and develop world class, engaging and impactful aquarium displays, animal welfare and conservation and education programs, now and into the future.

You will ensure the UK's animal care protocols and programs meet and exceed Merlin's high standards, and that you are utilising the SEA LIFE Animal Ethical Sourcing suppliers, and effectively planning their site collections. You will also work to develop strategies to maintain and improve existing displays.

You will also be responsible for the training needs of our attraction teams, identifying training needs and delivering effective training material to enhance our teams' knowledge. But that's not all, you will lead the regional implementation of strategies around conservation, education and breeding, and ensuring each sites' participation.

You will lead the development of excellent working relationships with local, national, and international governmental and non-governmental organisations, representative groups, and zoo and aquarium colleagues. Where practicable, you will seek accreditation to regional accreditation organisations, and meet all national and international licensing and permitting requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Qualified to at least A-Level standard, you will have gained significant experience within, or supporting, the aquarium industry
- Detailed knowledge of creating inspiring exhibits
- Detailed understanding of conservation
- Detailed understanding of managing animal welfare, maximising the welfare of the animals in your care
- Significant leadership and product development experience working across different countries and cultures
- Computer literate in MS Office coupled with excellent communication and organisational skills
- A natural problem solver with a proven track record of innovation
- You must be able and willing to travel on a regular basis
