We are currently looking to recruit a passionate, self-motivated **Band 7 Occupational Therapist**to join our multidisciplinary team based in South East London. You will be providing a high quality and efficient occupational therapy service to children from 0 to 19 years of age with difficulties in play, self-care and/or school occupations dueto a variety of conditions such as physical disability, developmental delay, developmental co-ordination disorder and autism. Our aim is to further develop the tiered model of provision across universal, targeted and specialist approaches alongside other professionalswe work with.

**Key Responsibilities but not restricted too**:

- Provide a high quality occupational therapy service to children from 0 to 19 years of age with difficulties in play, self-care and/or school occupations due to a variety of conditions such as physical disability, learning disability, developmental delay,developmental co-ordination disorder and autism.
- Effectively manage a caseload of clients with physical or learning disabilities using an 2 occupation-focused approach encompassing assessing, planning and evaluating interventions both face-to-face and remotely.
- Provide leadership for junior staff, through supervision and appraisal.
- Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services within a designated area/team, holding responsibility for defined projects.
- Contribute to the maintenance and development of the Occupational Therapy Service.
- Supervise Occupational Therapy students on practice placement.
- Contribute to providing a community paediatric occupational therapy service undertaking assessment, interpretation of assessment results, evaluation, treatment, advice and review.
- Provide EHC assessment reports and reviews and to keep up to date with best practice with regards to the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) agenda.
- Assess and evaluate the child's occupations through, e.g. the use of standardised and non-standardised assessments, observation, interview with parent or carer and/or parent and teacher questionnaires.
- Develop, plan and implement Occupational Therapy treatment programmes and strategies to enhance the child's ability to perform everyday activities and participate in multiple environments through, e.g. verbal and written advice and recommendations, writtenadvice sheets, individual treatment and/or group therapy
- Establish realistic goals and meaningful outcomes with the child, parent/carer and teacher and to use outcome measures for assessing and evaluating
- Manage a defined caseload, using evidence based / client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions both face-to-face and remotely.
- Ensure that children and their parents/carers are involved in the planning and prioritisation of their care plans wherever possible.
- Monitor and review the progress of the child against set targets and to modify targets as appropriate.
- Monitor, evaluate and modify treatment in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of intervention, e.g. through Advice Clinics and review assessments.
- Assess the child's need for small aids and specialised equipment, advise and recommend appropriate item for use at home, pre-school and school.
- Negotiate and work closely with children and their parents/carers agreeing decision making relevant to individual care management and seek advice from senior Occupational Therapist/ Head of Service if necessary.
- Demonstrate clinical effectiveness by use of evidence-based practice and outcome measures.
- Attend clinic, hospital, multi-disciplinary and multi-agency meetings as appropriate.
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate, detailed clinical records in accordance with professional standards and company policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure that up-to-date electronic records and activity data are maintained in accordance with Professional and company standards and provide specialist Occupational Therapy reports relevant to practice settings.
- Degree or a post-graduate diploma in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registered
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- UK driving Licence and access to own vehicle

**Salary for this role is up £50,806 depending on experience and inclusive of High Cost Area Supplement.**
