**Mechanical Operations & Maintenance Engineer Required**

Our client is a well-established, independent company with over 20 years in the industry. They set up to deliver strategic objectives which, at the time, were mainly focused on tackling climate change through carbon reduction. This is a new permanent rolewithin the company, created in response to growth in the pipeline and is intended to provide the opportunity for career progression within the business through training and development. The role is based at their HQ in Woking with occasional work at theirsecond site in Milton Keynes.

The successful Mechanical Operations & Maintenance Engineer will be a reliable, ambitious individual with experience in operating and servicing power generating plant,electrical distribution, pumped heat, and chilled water systems. You will have strong verbaland written communication skills along with being able to organise and manage time effectively. This position would be highly suitable for someone who is enthusiastic for continuous improvement, both personally & professionally.

**Mechanical Operations & Maintenance Engineer - Position Overview**
- To operate and maintain mechanical plant and equipment within energy centres and network customers’ premises.
- Service, diagnose faults and repair a wide range of mechanical plant with particular emphasis on internal combustion engines, generators, and CHP units.
- Working to a high technical standard in compliance with statutory requirements and with regard to health and safety
- Overall responsibility for operating and maintaining energy assets through close monitoring of performance and status, early diagnosis of faults and working to PPM lists to maximise operating efficiency, availability, and asset life.
- Specific responsibility for the continued and efficient operation of fixed internal combustion engines including servicing and maintenance of gas-powered CHP direct coupled power generation equipment and diesel standby generators
- Monitoring and operating cooling towers (including water dosing equipment) in line with the legionella management system and HSE guidance.
- Prudent use of Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules working in unison with team members
- General mechanical engineering input into projects and tasks additional to Operation and Maintenance activities, including plant replacement, new customer connections and network extensions
- Robustly supporting a permanent team of electrical and mechanical engineering staff operating two principal CHP Energy Centres in Woking, multiple customer plant rooms and outlying sites generating approximately 15GWh/year district heat, power, and chilledwater

**Mechanical Operations & Maintenance Engineer - Position Requirements**
- A strong understanding of plant operation and maintenance
- Relevant service delivery within the energy industry
- Experience of working with PLC/SCADA systems
- Experience in maintenance & repair for commercial pumps,motors & valves
- Relevant Mechanical Engineering qualifications
- IOSH Working safely or similar
- ACoP L8 Legionella Aware
- Experience working with CHP gas engines

**Mechanical Operations & Maintenance Engineer - Position Remuneration**
- Salary: £30K - £35K
- Hours: Mon-Fri 7:30 - 4:30
