Independent Maritime Agencies are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join our ever growing and reputable business, which has been a leading provider of freight logistics and maritime services for over 30 years.

**The Role**:
This is a perfect opportunity for someone either looking for or already has all round accounts experience in Sales/Purchase ledger/Credit Control.

**Job Purpose**:

- A key member of the finance team, assisting with key tasks and the production of accurate, timely, relevant management accounts
- Assist with sales ledger, purchase ledger, disbursement accounts, and month end duties
- Provide holiday cover for finance team members

**Key Responsibilities**:
Credit control, disbursement account entry and reconciliation, credit checks on old and new customers, posting payments and receipts, preparing and posting sales invoices, responsible for accounts payable, ensuring the process is followed from entering all invoices on to the system to arranging prompt payment, VAT/VAT Returns, bank reconciliations, assist with preparation of year end transactions.

Full training will be given for all these tasks if no experience in them already.

**Skills**:

- Looking to qualify in AAT
- GCSE minimum grade C in Maths and English
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- IT literate including general accounts systems (Sage), MS Office (Excel, Outlook).
- Be able to communicate with all levels of the business
- Comfortable in a small business environment

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From £20,000.00 per year
