We have excellent opportunity an experienced Clinical Team Leader to manage a team of registered nurses and care assistants at Dee View Court based in Aberdeen. You will ensure the effective assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of high standards of holistic care for our service users.
About us:
Sue Ryder Dee View Court in Kincorth, Aberdeen, is currently Scotland's only purpose-built specialist neurological centre providing care for people living with complex neurological conditions, including Huntington’s disease, multiple sclerosis and acquired brain injuries. We have exciting career and development opportunities for Experienced Care Assistants of all levels.
Our newly expanded Neurological Care centre has 36 single bedrooms available for residential care and 7 supported living apartment for two people, which has a kitchen and a lounge to help people maintain their independence for as long as possible.
About the role:
- You will have responsibility to ensure effective performance management of all clinical staff in line with Sue Ryder policies and procedures for recruitment, induction, development, supervision, appraisal and discipline.
- To lead the nursing team in developing the quality of nursing care, acting as a source of support and advice to colleagues and relatives
- To ensure that clinical care is provided in line with multi professional, evidence based care plans, is timely and appropriate and that Sue Ryder policies and procedures are adhered to
- Take responsibility for a service user group, consulting and liaising with the multi-disciplinary team, service users, family/carers over their care
- Liaise and communicate with other health and social care professionals in Sue Ryder and outside agencies in the planning and delivery of service user care, including junior doctors on placement
- Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the service user in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care
- Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate individualised care using evidence based guidelines
About you:
- Registered Nurse or degree level qualification, possible further study.
- Experience in specialist palliative or neurological care depending on service requirement. Committed to service user involvement.
- Demonstrable experience of practising in a self-directed and highly motivated way
- An ability to provide teaching and mentorship in a clinical setting
- Able to effectively manage change and manage performance
- Clinical leadership skills
- Skills in leading clinical practice development for client group
- Proven skills in leading, building and influencing
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including an ability to communicate difficult messages to service users and their families
- Negotiation and conflict management skills
