- As a Curator at Biorelate, you will use your knowledge and understanding of biology, and scientific literature to help provide our data science team with high quality, curated data. You will be reporting directly to the Lead Curator, and working closely with the Head of Professional Services and the Lead Data Scientist.**Must be eligible to work in the U.K and U.K Resident**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Follow curation guidelines to ensure consistency as an individual contributor, and across the curation team;
- Be engaged in driving the quality of the data forwards by providing feedback and suggestions for improvements;
- Be engaged in the wider activities of the company, including attendance at internal meetings/conferences;
- Review spreadsheets, where each line contains a sentence and some information extracted from it, correcting the information where necessary;
- Writing internal reports and summary reviews.

**Key Skills And Experience**
- Have experience in reading and interpreting scientific literature within the field of biological sciences;
- Demonstrate a proactive and flexible approach to work, with a desire to explore possibilities and seek new ideas;
- Possess a good understanding of the use of ontologies that are commonly used in the biological sciences field e.g. HGNC gene ids, MESH, Disease Ontology;
- Possess a basic understanding of bioinformatics and biomedical data;
- Be proficient in the use and understanding of the English language, particularly in the context of biological literature;
- Hold a keen eye for detail, producing work of an accurate standard.

**Desirable Skills And Experience**
- Ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of people (biologists, data scientists, developers);
- Ability to be productive in a distributed team through self-discipline and self-motivation, delivering according to a schedule;
- An understanding of biochemistry would be a bonus;
- Bioinformatic/Computational Biology skills would be a bonus;
- Experience with Relational Databases would be a bonus
