Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Lead

Work as a Specialist Practitioner to manage, develop, and lead family-based care in the perinatal period where the parents have or are at risk of developing mental health difficulties, and where these are likely to impact their infants emotional development This will supplement the care given by the universal Health Visiting service Act as an advocate for parents and their infants with perinatal mental health difficulties to ensure they receive active and effective care, in a caseload. This will be done through liaison and partnership working with other agencies Undertake comprehensive assessments of families who are referred for additional support including assessing the needs of partners/fathers To provide appropriate targeted clinical interventions for women with low-moderate level perinatal illness e.g., plan and implement short-term care plans at individual level and also via targeted group work. To hold a small caseload of clients who require intensive mental health interventions To act as a role model highly demonstrating specialist knowledge in practice as the Perinatal/Infant mental health lead, which is underpinned by theoretical knowledge and relevant practice experience Actively contribute to the development of sound clinical practice in the delivery of the Perinatal Mental Health Programme. To identify and record any problems or concerns and report back to the 0-19 Services Brent Clinical Lead as appropriate.

Participate in managerial supervision i.e., 1:1s and supporting students. Please refer to Job description and personal Specification for outline of skills, knowledge and experience required.
