Are you looking for some additional working hours or to gain experience working in a custodial setting?
We are currently looking for a Bank Pharmacy Second Checker within HMP Wealstun, a category C men’s prison with an operational capacity of 832, based in Wetherby in West Yorkshire.
Working as a Bank Pharmacy Second Checker offers you flexibility and workplace variety. You would also be assisting the wider permanent team, covering for planned and unplanned absences.

As a Bank Pharmacy Checker, you will be responsible for second checking of all controlled drugs under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Technician. The role will involve making accurate entries into controlled drugs registers. This may in future rotate to other areas within the Pharmacy service. You'll be required to support and provide a timely and efficient pharmaceutical service to the prison wings.

As an integral member of the Pharmacy Team, you'll contribute to the development of and support implementation of medicine management strategy and associated services and projects. You may be required to take on a role of working across multiple Pharmacy Services if and when required.

It goes without saying that you'll be highly organised, have excellent attention to detail and have good communication skills - both verbal and written. Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team would be beneficial, as is experience within a Pharmacy service.

**About You**:
NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills/equivalent or working towards Level 2 English and Maths or equivalent

A non-judgmental and compassionate approach

Excellent communication skills

Have the ability to recognise your own value and that of others

Good IT skills and IT literacy

Ability to work within a busy environment

Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
