With experience from the NHS and/or private sector, you will lead and manage an effective and efficient Occupational Therapy Service to service users within The Copse, providing care for men and women with mental illness and/or personality disorder in aLocked Rehabilitation environment.
You will be supported by an experienced Therapy Team to be able to assess and provide treatment to our residents. You will be responsible for the assessment and management of residents to promote their independence and support long term management of theircondition.
With a strong emphasis on teamwork, you'll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of online and CPD training courses to support you reach your career goals.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Completing assessments, planning sessions and implementing intervention
- Evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans
- Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants
- Working collaboratively with service users and the team to develop, review and evaluate individualised care plans
- Implementation of the agreed care and rehabilitation programmes
- Promoting the use of specialist assessments using occupational therapy skills
- Promoting the use of specialist assessment tools
- Implement and develop evidence-based therapeutic activities to aid mental health recovery
- To co-ordinate the induction of all newly appointed staff as per department standards.
- To co-ordinate, guide and support the clinical interventions provided by the Occupational Therapy Service
**To be successful in this role, you will need**:
- Registered OT with Dip COT qualification or degree
- 3 years post qualification, of which a minimum of 1 years working within mental health setting
- Experience working with people with neurological needs
- Understanding of the CPA / CTP process
- Strong knowledge of best practices within a similar setting
- Experience, knowledge and skill in supervising OT staff and students
