Industrial Cleaner

Taziker is a leading multi-disciplinary engineering contractor specialising in undertaking key maintenance, refurbishment and replacement works to critical UK infrastructure. We operate from ten regional locations supported by a Support Services office in Lancashire.

We are seeking a dedicated Industrial Cleaner to join our fantastic team working in the Bedford area.

This is a full-time position working from 07:30am - 16:30 pm Mondays to Thursdays and 07:30 am to 11:30 am on Fridays.

**Responsibilities**:

- Understanding of the Company’s Health, Safety Quality and Environmental Policies and carry out work in accordance with the requirements.
- Have a knowledge of the site rules and company HSEQ procedures applicable to work on which you ensure they are complied with.
- Be aware of and adhere to all emergency response protocols at the premises where you work. Requirements include fire prevention, first aid and incident reporting. Never block or lock an emergency door.
- Use and take care of all personal protective equipment and other safety equipment which has been provided. If you are unsure check the risk assessment or ask your supervisor.
- Have a personal concern for your own safety and that of your fellow workers or anyone else who could be affected by the work in progress and set a good personal example.
- Ensure that you work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner in compliance with relevant risk assessments, method statements, permit to works and any specific site requirements.
- Before starting any task, always check the hazards and controls listed on the risk assessment; if there is any part you do not fully understand, or if you notice any further hazards or if conditions change during the job, stop work, and immediately inform your supervisor.
- Ensure waste generation is kept to a minimum, and waste is disposed of in a safe and responsible manner.
- Always check all quality documents (plans, design drawings, client specifications) or consult with the supervisor before starting work; do not change or modify drawings or documents unless you are authorized to do so.
- Use the correct tools, plant, and equipment for the job in hand and ensure that they are always kept in a safe and serviceable condition.
- Report to site /senior manager any defects in plant, vehicles, personal protective equipment or safety equipment or any obvious risks to health and safety.
- Always maintain good housekeeping and ensure that floors doorways, corridors etc are kept clear and free from obstructions or trip hazards.
- Ensure that all health, safety, quality, and environmental incidents, near misses or unsafe acts, no matter how minor are reported. Co-operate with the incident investigations and any corrective actions raised as a result.
- Look to continually improvement the way you work by involvement in suggestion schemes, site discussions etc.

**Person Specification**:

- Must have experience as an Industrial Cleaner. Experience with Energy from Waste Plants is highly advantageous.
- Must posses a CCNSG Passport to Safety qualification.
- Be able to show demonstrable experience of building and maintaining good working relationships with people of all levels.
- A team player who also works well independently.
- Organised and self-motivated, with the ability to manage own workload effectively.
