This role will own and coordinate the manufacturing plan, improving the business ability to meet customer delivery requirements by understanding BU capacity, identifying constraints, and actively reducing lead times (availability) by product. Location - Littlehampton Salary - Competitive plus benefits **The the roles and responsibilities of the planner will be to -** Be accountable for and own the manufacturing "build" plan, coordinating with internal stakeholders such as Sales, Production, Stores, Logistics, Supply Chain, NPI Planning and site wide management to ensure a cohesive strategic, executable plan is in place. Own the consolidation of various delivery commitments from Cell Leaders and Purchasing into one agreed order schedule, ensuring customer satisfaction. To support a site wide SIOP program. (Sales, Inventory, Operating Plan) Responsible for the flow of product through the production facility and subcontract manufacturers, ensuring that production operatives / subcontractors have the correct quantities of materials/components and information delivered to them on time at the correctlocation to achieve on time deliveries. Support to co-ordinate all aspects of production planning, material control, shop floor scheduling and labour capacity planning. Prepare and issue shop floor documentation to meet the Production Schedule. Works to resolve, labour and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions using a Problem, Action, Owner, Due Date methodology. Liaise with Sales and Product Managers to communicate delays and to resolve any delivery queries. Process Engineering Change Orders, Custom BoM (Bill of Materials) releases and new product Introductions into existing production. Review and manage the Operations element of 1st Article Inspection on incoming subcontracted product. Provide accurate, timely and concise feedback to keep key stakeholders updated with the latest status. Take a lead role in the ongoing improvement in manufacturing data accuracy. Analyse long lead time parts and work with purchasing to develop custom supply solutions (e.g., point-of-use material, line-side stocking, Kanban, min-max supply, etc.) Producing Key Performance Indicator and management reports Capability to respond quickly, decisively, assertively, and professionally to changing requirements in demand, product description, and material supply. Ability to 'see' the big picture, moving parts and identify risk to Sales order execution Ability to present ideas in a clear and persuasive manner, both orally and in writing. Excellent judgement and initiative, including the ability to effectively balance multiple priorities Minimum five years of production planning or material management experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment, ideally electromechanical experience. Experience in a high mix/low volume, pull-based manufacturing environment. Proven track record of success and growth in positions of increasing responsibility. Previous experience with SAP (preferred)
