Fred Winter Centre Navigator

The Fred Winter Centre is a busy multi-disciplinary Homeless Hub working to prevent and relieve homelessness in Stratford Upon Avon and its surrounding district. Spring Housing Association are looking for a Trauma Informed Support Navigator to support its ongoing work at the Fred Winter Centre.

No two days at work will be the same We need someone who can work flexibly to meet the needs of individuals as they enter the centre and connect them to the relevant support organisations to meet their individual needs.

Typical duties will include:

- To welcome individuals to the centre and provide an initial triage service, i.e. assessing individuals needs and connecting them to relevant wellbeing activities and services
- To act as the responsible person on site, alongside the Assistant Head of Service and Service Manager. Build positive and trusting relationships with centre-users, ensuring they feel safe and valued
- To work in conjunction with on-site partners to ensure that the FWC is an approachable, well used service for the community and residents
- Ability to comprehend put in practice organisational policies and procedures in order to provide more in-depth support to individuals presenting as homeless
- To work in partnership with the Assistant Head of Service and Volunteer & Wellbeing Coordinator to promote key wellbeing activities and events
- To deputise in the absence of the Volunteer & Wellbeing Coordinator to support centre volunteers
- To support with incident management, ensuring concerns are recorded and reported, as per Spring’s incident management policy
- To work with Spring’s front-line staff and key partners to challenge any instances of anti-social behaviour
- To act as one of the responsible individuals on site, in the event of Fire
- To understand the H&S processes around the centre and carry out relevant tests, in the absence of the Assistant Head of Service
- To work in partnership with the Community Café staff to ensure the general space and building facilities are clean and clear, through regular daily monitoring
- To set up and reset the rooms around bookings, at the start and end of each day, ensuring hosts and guests are catered for
- To work in partnership with Finance to ensure booking invoices are processed correctly
- To oversee the opening / lock up of the centre when required, in partnership with the Concierge staff and Assistant Head of Service
- To work closely with the concierge team, ensuring handovers, both at the end of the day and start of the day, ensuring smooth operation of services and support to key individuals
- To connect individuals to the facilities and follow processes (laundry, locker, clothing bank, etc) This requires dedicated processes, monitoring and statistics.
- To be a point of contact to liaise with contractors, in partnership with the Assistant Head of Service and utilising the FWC Building Guide
- To be proficient in using the CCTV system
- To understand key policies and procedures, including Incident Management and Safeguarding
- To accept, monitor and process donations
- Ordering / replenishing stock for the kitchen and laundry facilities
- Resetting the facilities on a daily basis, including washing towels, etc
- To work alongside the Assistant Head of Service to ensure key monthly statistics are captured
- To support the Assistant Head of Service with external promotion, including Social Media
